Confucius

While learning about this intriguing ancient philosopher, students will move about the classroom at the beginning of each lesson to match proverbs and to find the missing part of their Confucian sayings. After these simple warm-ups, they will do partner work, exploring key-concepts using passages from the Social Studies textbook. Furthermore, students will answer questions about online short video clips concerning the life and time of Confucius. To display their understanding, they will synthesize what they know into a poster project and an essay.

Love the warm-up activity and the class interaction that you were able to integrate into this lesson! There are also some good video links here. Thank you!

These plans look great. Just one note, the website is actually http://afe.easia.columbia.edu/. It will not work if the student cuts and pastes www. with the links provided.
