28 Chinese offers a view of contemporary Chinese art through a group of 28 artists, ranging from those grabbing the spotlight today, including Liu Wei, He Xiangyu and Xu Zhen to the internationally acclaimed Zhang Huan and Ai Weiwei. These artists have made a significant impact on the contemporary art world and have expanded definitions of “Chinese contemporary art.”
Republic of China (Taiwan) President Ma Ying-jeou will speak by video link to audiences in the United States, followed by questions and commentary from Stanford-based scholars William Perry, Larry Diamond, and Lanhee Chen. When the video broadcast concludes, R. Bin Wong will moderate a discussion at Taiwan Academy between Jeffrey Wasserstrom and David Kang about the ideas presented.
Mobile technology has had an enormous impact on the global economy. The Boston Consulting Group and Qualcomm, Inc. have recently made an in-depth study at this impact, and during this event they will discuss their research, putting a spotlight on China and India as two case study markets.
