Grant Opportunity for LAUSD educators

I am part of this cohort, that meets once a month. They are looking U.S. History teachers to join for next semester. I have learned so much from attending this workshop. There is a $600 stipend, and free resources. Also, salary points are available for purchase. This is a great professional development opportunity. The contact person is Linda Kidd at 213-241-6444. Her email is linda.kidd@lausd.net.

Teach American History-TAH is an excellent way to learn about what the traditional history textbooks, forgot to include about the “others” in the middle grades and High-school. The TAH deliver a variety of lectures via field trips on site by lecturers at museums, art experts as it document the US visual trajectory to becoming a new nation. Including the positive contributions of the Chinese people in the building of the US railroad system, and shaping of the overall economy of this country right along-side other equally important immigrant groups. I highly recommend the TAH program; it is only once a month on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. In addition each presentation is followed by the distributions of useful and relevant instructional materials; posters, books, exclusive access to technology interactive resources, while participating in the program. Complete DVD sets on a particular topic presented and specific to each grade level.

Thank you for the post. Is this program similar to the LAUSD Social Studies Fellowship Program?
