I decided to start a thread for the primary grades, although I am sure that any grade teacher can adjust a lesson to suit their class.
Let's post some ideas and/or attach docs that we can share with each other!
I'll start!
Attached find a blank stamp template. Curtis had suggested having students design a stamp with what they have learned about China, historical figures, etc. I thought my kinder students could design a stamp with one of the many inventions they learned about during our China unit. Thanks for the idea Curtis.

This is a power point I adapted and used in my classroom as an introduction to Chinese dance. It shows both dances from the past and the present. It showed my children that similar to most cultures Chinese dances are for ritual reasons, holidays, and even national reasons. After viewing, we used our dragon masks and did the lion/dragon dance in class. Another day we will do the ribbon dances: they love that!
A good way to get in performing arts/dance along with social studies.
What a great Power Point presentation!!! I teach computer lab and we start learning about Power Point in 1st Grade. I could have maybe my 4th or 5th grade students do a research project about the different forms of dance and then make it into a presentation like yours.
This could also be used in a middle school drama and/or dance class.
What a great idea!!! I also love how you have them do a dragon dance and then a ribbon dance. I bet they just love that. :-D
This is a great power point on Chinese dance! I'm putting together a lesson for my 4th graders on Chinese culture as an introduction to the Chinese immigrants that came to California during the Gold Rush. Suzanne Lopez
