Coordinate Planes & Japanese Interior Design

Included in the PDF is a multi-day lesson plan for 6th Grade Math. It explores the geometry of design features in Japanese interiors and relates the shapes found to polygons used in geometry. Students will use their own workspaces to make designs on coordinate planes and record the coordinate pairs of their shapes. They will use the coordinate pairs to recreate a partner's drawing and can extend the lesson by making abstract art with their coordinates.
