Suketu Mehta's book entitled "Maximum City" is a resource everyone should add to their library of books. It is a study of an Indian American who returns to India to reflect on his culture, community and politics. An accurate, comprehensive guide to learning about India and its people, it is a great starting point if one is interested in learning about India. Of particular note is the chapter about the Janine religion (belief system). Although some passages are quite raw, educators will appreciate the candor and prose of this very skilled writer. One may use it for one's own enrichment or select various chapters to teach about religious groups in India or the culture therein.
