Surprisingly well there were no readings for this session although the session itself was spectacular. Mr. Dube commented on the previous session where all Participants in this seminar were to take a stand and portray a stance on the self strengtheners, the reformers, or the rebellious groups of the time. It was really fun and exciting to see the participant’s views and ideas pertaining to the 3 different groups. I really commend the participants who chose to be the leaders. This took courage. The participant’s leaders knew what they were talking about and took their stance and made their views credible and valuable to the discussion/s after hand.
Reading’s session 11- Since there was no readings to be read and needing the extra post I will comment on the session and the learning’s of it. Mr. Dube pointed out that China now is big on films. Now it is bigger than the foreign films market. That it grew by 30% the reason being is that more money is involved, like everyone else; everybody would like more money to be had and spend, especially when going to a movie. Nowadays it is very expensive for famikies to go out and watch a movie. The price of admission ranges from $9; 00 dollars for matinees, to $13.00 dollars for night time viewings, (the last time I went), but to me the prices are ridiculous, especially if you have a family and want to take them to watch a movie. The admission price is already exorbitant, but then the food, (hot dogs. sodas. Candy, popcorn. The pikes double. So for a family of four it easily ranges in the 100’s just to watch a film. However, Mr. Dube mentioned the fact that in China, 9 screens were built a day, that seems like a lot but considering the population numbers it seems rationalized.
It seemed as if China fell in love with Hollywood, but then fell out of love.

Session 11
One of the advantages of taking this seminar is that I become more aware of the influence China plays in our daily lives. One of the aspects is the film industry. I was waiting for a movie to come out and when I went to the theatre one of the biggest surprises I got was the fact that it was distributed by the company "H Brothers" a chinese brand. Also, one of the main characters was a chinese actor and obviously he was representing a chinese character with a very positive role. This movie was a teen movie and after that I got to pay more attention to the companies that distribute, or produce movies because I believe there is more influence from the Chinese companies in the western world.
