The Confucius Institute (CI) at NC State is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the CI Headquarters around the world, the State of NC has reached over 10,000 students studying Chinese in K-12 public schools, and the Center for International Understanding has 38 Confucius Classrooms in NC. The organizers of the Summit have all helped contribute to this large growth in Chinese language programs.
The Institute of East Asian Studies at the University of Califronia, Berkeley presents a panel discussion "The Shangshu - New Perspectives on the Documents Classic" co-sponsored by the Center for Chinese Studies from September 2 at 4 p.m.
ConocoPhillips Speakers Series presents Christopher K. Johnson of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) who joins Asia Society Texas Center, where he will discuss how China's reform package will affect U.S.–China relations going forward.
Professor Ya-Chen Ma with National Tsing Hua University will give a presentation on how ancient Beijing was constructed pictorially as a magnificent imperial capital through reference to its imagined Other, Suzhou, and the provinces.
