On September 29, 2024, the USC U.S.-China Institute hosted a workshop at the Huntington’s Chinese garden, offering K-12 educators hands-on insights into using the garden as a teaching tool. The U.S. State Department issues an annual report on human trafficking across the world, including in the U.S. In addition to the usual section on China, which in recent years has highlighted the detention of Uyghurs and others, the 2022 report included a special section on trafficking associated with China's Belt and Road Initiative.
