Qingming Festival
Join the Lan Su Chinese Garden in celebrating the Qingming Festival.
Qingming is the traditional Chinese festival of spring honors family and loved ones that have passed. Qingming commemorates and honors family heritage and is traditionally observed beginning with the cleaning and laying of flowers on the graves of loved ones. It follows with a celebration of renewal including playing outdoor games and flying kites.
During the Chinese festival of Qingming, many families will visit the graves of their loved ones to make offerings and show respect for their ancestors. Take part in this custom by writing a fond memory or wish for your ancestors and tying it to the branch of the special tree at Lan Su as an expression of remembrance.
This event is free with garden membership or admission; no registration is required.
