China-Africa Economic Cooperation: Beyond Infrastructure and Extractive Industries

Moses N. Kiggundu, Professor of Management and International Business at Carleton University will speak at Cornell University on China-Africa Economic Cooperation.

Moses N. Kiggundu is Professor of Management and International Business at the Sprott School of Business, Carleton University, Ottawa. He teaches and supervises graduate students in Canada and abroad, including in China, Iran, the West Indies and Africa. His research focuses on managing globalization and creating conditions for a competitive economy in developing countries and emerging economies. Recently he has been researching China’s internationalization of business, its outward foreign direct investment and South-South economic engagements, including in Africa. He is interested in the study of building state and non-state capacities in open societies, including the study of public administrative reform and corporate social responsibility in high-risk environments. He is interested in strategies to provide goods and services to poor and marginalized citizens. For over thirty years, he has worked with multinational companies, the UN, international organizations and foreign governments on development management at home and abroad. He has published over fifty conference papers, journal articles, book chapters and several books. He is the author of Managing Globalization in Developing Countries and Transition Economies (Greenwood 2002).
