Professor Roderick Whitfield is a civil Service Interpreter in Mandarin (SOAS).
He received his BA and MA at Cantab; MFA and PhD at Princeton. His recent publication is Chinese Painting in Wou Lien-Pai Museum. Hong Kong : Orientations in 2009, co-authored with Yu, Hui and Yang, Chia-Ling.
His main research interest lies in Chinese art & archaeology; Buddhist art from Dunhuang; Chinese pictorial art and calligraphy and East Asian narrative painting; Chinese painting theory.
