How Chinese Judges Think
UC San Diego's 21st Century China Center presents a talk on judges in the Chinese legal system.
Where
Drawing from original fieldwork and interviews, UC San Diego Professor Kwai Ng offers a look at the decision-making process of judges in China. Do Chinese judges follow the law and the law only? What other factors influence the judges? The talk will also explain how the rule of law is understood by Chinese judges and how that understanding will shape the future of the Chinese legal system.
