Chinese Speech Contest

Emory University is holding a Chinese speech contest in which students will showcase their language skills and knowledge of Chinese culture.

Goal: To present student performances and showcase their language skills and knowledge of Chinese culture.

Tentative Program:

   1. Welcome and Introduction
   2. Speech Contest

Category One: Elementary Level (four contestants – two winners)

Category Two: Intermediate Level (four contestants – two winners)

Category Three: Advanced Level (four contestants – two winners)

Category Four: Heritage Speakers (Jeopardy of Chinese Knowledge)

Jeopardy 1: CHN103-000 VS CHN103-001   ( Each section selects 3 representatives  to play and answer questions related to Chinese culture. If one team fails, the other side may answer. If no one can provide the correct answers on the stage, students from CHN103 sections can try.  A gift will be offered for a correct answer from the audience.)

Jeopardy 2: CHN303-000 VS CHN303-001  ( same as Jeopardy 1)

3. Short Entertainment (also a competition)

4. Award Presentation
We will provide gifts for all contestants. Additional prizes and certificates will be issued to the winners of the speech contest and the short entertainment competition.
