Experience a moving performance that merges personal history, contemporary dance, live music, and visual art. Choreographer and performer Yin Mei weaves her experiences during the Chinese Cultural Revolution into a collaborative dance theater work with the extraordinary Tibetan contemporary dancer Sang Jijia. Most recently with the Frankfurt Ballet, Sang Jijia returns to New York to collaborate with Yin Mei in a sequel to their earlier "Empty Traditions: City of Peonies." They are joined by live string quartet in presenting this excerpt from their new work, "City of Paper."

Made possible in part by a grant from the National Dance Project, a project of the New England Foundation for the Arts, Asian Cultural Council, American Music Center and the Asian American Arts Alliance.
