LOVERS begins as a young photographer, Jeremy, arrives in Shanghai on the night of his first solo exhibition in the city. Elsewhere, on that same winter's night, a young woman, 'Qiu Sen' quickly and silently snaps photos of a random couple while stalking closely behind them. She is eventually led into a small street corner art gallery advertising Jeremy’s exhibition.

As she follows the couple inside, her life will pause for a moment - and in that moment, Jeremy will see her. And she will see him. And in the moment their eyes lock, they will fall for each other for the second time. . .

The film asks the question, what would you do if you had a chance to heal the wounds of a loved one you hurt deeply? Or would the emotional baggage and pain of past mistakes be too much to overcome? Set against the beautiful, glowing backdrop of modern Shanghai, LOVERS deals with the subjects of love both lost and found, and the fragility of a second chance.
