The USC U.S.-China Institute is offering a complimentary five-day residential summer seminar at USC for educators. Participants will have the option of commuting to USC and receiving a $250 stipend, or be housed at the USC Radisson Hotel (double occupancy). Breakfast, lunch, and parking will be provided.
Globalization and trade issues are prevalent in today’s headlines, but East Asia has been at the center of trade and cultural exchange for centuries. This seminar will explore the historical flow of people, their products and ideas to and from East Asia over the past two thousand years with particular emphasis on exchanges over the past century.
Many key content standards for history, social science, language arts, as well as visual and performing arts will be addressed. The program will include some information applicable to the science and math curriculums as well.
