Sijo Workshop: Korean Poetry, Literature, Music, and Dance
Indiana University announces a new NCTA enrichment event this Spring.
In this two-day workshop, to be held April 30th to May 1st in Glenview, IL, teachers will learn the basics of sijo, a Korean poetic form that flourished during the Joseon dynasty and is still written today. The workshop will include expert lectures on the history of sijo/related Korean literary forms, sijo composition practice, performances, and a session on classroom implementation.
Fulltime K12 teachers of any subject are eligible to apply—NCTA program alumni are especially welcome! Meals, lodging, and modest travel/personal stipends are provided by the workshop. Please see the attached application/flyer for more details.
