Lecture on Chinese Economic and Political Trajectory
As a part of the Confucius Institute of Rutgers University’s Fall 2015 Distinguished Lecture Series, on Thursday November 17, Daniel C. Lynch will be giving a lecture on the debates of Chinese economic and political trajectory.
Where
The lecture will take place on-campus in Brower Commons in rooms A, B, and C from 4:30pm until 6pm.
The dining hall building is located at 145 College Avenue in New Brunswick.
During his talk, Daniel Lynch will analyze the apparent contradiction between China’s ‘new aggressiveness’ in foreign policy matters and the challenges that the Chinese Communist party faces in the domestic realm.
The lecture will be followed by a brief Question and Answer session.
Daniel C. Lynch is an associate professor of International Relations at the University of Southern California and received his PHD from the University of Michigan in 1996.
Daniel Lynch has published three monographs which are titled, “After the Propaganda State,” “Rising China and Asian Democratization: Socialization to Global Culture in the Political Transformations of Thailand, China, and Taiwan,” and “China’s Futures,” published in 1999, 2008, and 2015 respectively.
Lynch also writes contemporary pieces on Chinese current affairs in news magazines such as “The Diplomat” as well as others.
