Join us for a free one-day workshop for educators at the Japanese American National Museum, hosted by the USC U.S.-China Institute and the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia. This workshop will include a guided tour of the beloved exhibition Common Ground: The Heart of Community, slated to close permanently in January 2025. Following the tour, learn strategies for engaging students in the primary source artifacts, images, and documents found in JANM’s vast collection and discover classroom-ready resources to support teaching and learning about the Japanese American experience.
ICS Conference: 3rd Workshop on Innovations in Cantonese Linguistics (WICL-3)
The Ohio State University Institute for Chinese Studies presents the 3rd Workshop on Innovations in Cantonese Linguistics.
Where
The 3rd Workshop on Innovations in Cantonese Linguistics (WICL-3) will take place on March 12 and 13, 2016, at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, U.S.A. WICL-3 focuses on new advances in Cantonese Linguistics, including innovations in methodologies, tools, and/or computing software. Topics include new approaches and research on language variation within the Cantonese (or “Yue”) subgroup of the Chinese language family, language contact phenomena, etc.
Please see our call for papers page for information on abstract submission. The conference organizing committee is considering a teleconferencing presentation session. Scholars with difficulties in travelling to the conference are encouraged to submit an abstract.
