The Evolution of Six Scripts of Chinese Calligraphy over 5,000 years (中华5000年六体书艺术)
The George Washington University Confucius Institute, the Sigur Center for Asian Studies and the Pfieffer University Confucius Institute will be hosting a two-day seminar on Chinese calligraphy and the history of Chinese characters. Dr. Hong Zhao, an expert in calligraphy from Beijing, China, will speak during the event.

Speaker Bio:
Dr. Hong Zhao majored in Chinese literature at Beijing Capital Normal University (BCNU). His undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. degrees were supervised by Dr. Zhongshi Ou’yang (Dr. Zhongshi Ou’yang, a famous Chinese calligrapher and educator, he is the master of Chinese calligraphy comparable to Western artists such as Picasso). Dr. Zhao currently serves at the Continuing Education College of BCNU and he is one of the trustees at the Beijing Distinguished Intellectuals Association and the National Chinese Calligrapher Association.
