Join us for a free one-day workshop for educators at the Japanese American National Museum, hosted by the USC U.S.-China Institute and the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia. This workshop will include a guided tour of the beloved exhibition Common Ground: The Heart of Community, slated to close permanently in January 2025. Following the tour, learn strategies for engaging students in the primary source artifacts, images, and documents found in JANM’s vast collection and discover classroom-ready resources to support teaching and learning about the Japanese American experience.
2015 USC Global Conference: Shanghai, China

Where
The 2015 USC Global Conference will take place in the city of Shanghai, China, at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai located in the world famous Jin Mao Tower on October 29 – 31, 2015.
The conference will start on Thursday night with an opening dinner for attendees to gather, network and launch what is sure to be the best USC Global Conference ever. The program will kick off on Friday morning, showcasing global business leaders, cutting edge research, and breakthroughs that are changing the world as we know it. Sessions continue on Saturday through lunch, ending with the gala dinner on Saturday night.
Robert Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Walt Disney Company, will be featured at the 2015 USC Global Conference in a conversation with Willow Bay, the Director of the USC Annenberg School of Journalism. He brings a unique global perspective to the fields of entertainment, business and technology as the steward of the world’s largest media company and some of the most respected and beloved brands around the globe. Mr. Iger has been instrumental in advancing a strategic vision anchored in content, innovation and expansion that has led to historic growth for the company.
The conference will also feature Ming Hsieh who was the Co-founder, President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of Cogent, Inc., C.L. Max Nikias, the eleventh president of the University of Southern California, and John Zhao the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hony Capital and Executive Vice President of Legend Holdings Corporation. As global industry and academic leaders, their experience and expertise will augment the cutting edge research and industry breakthroughs highlighted at the conference.
