Leung, "The impact of the Hong Kong Currency Board and the Asian financial crisis on Hong Kong's economy," 2001
Wing Yee Winnie Leung, M.A.
Abstract (Summary)
This thesis summarizes the history of the Hong Kong Currency Board (HKCB) and evaluates how it has impacted Hong Kong's economy. In addition, this thesis addresses both the causes of the Asian Financial Crisis and its impact on Hong Kong's society and financial markets. I present evidence that focuses on the relative volatilities of relevant macroeconomic variables, both before and after the Asian Financial Crisis.
