Abstract (Summary)
This paper presents not only a concise history of the turnover and Asian financial crisis, but also a detailed description of their effects on Hong Kong. More importantly, it raises an issue in economic studies, expectation's role in these events, the turnover and the financial crisis. This paper suggests that many of the differences in the effects of the two incidents were attributed to the expectations of the public.
