The Winding Path of Chinese Characters
The US-China Peopless Friendship Association of Long Beach presents a talk with Professor Sheng-tai Chang of Long Beach City College.

Chinese characters have gone through dramatic changes in 5,000 years since they began as inscrptions on oracle bones. Today these characters can be displayed on your own computer. Dr. Sheng-tai Chang will trace the evolution and upheavals of this ancient language now spoke by one fourth of the world's population.
Dr. Chang's discouse will be a stepping stone for Chinese 1-2-3, the Chinese language course being presented this fall by the International Chinese Student Assocation of CSULB and the US-China Peoples Friendship Association.
After receiving his B.A. from East China Normal University in Shanghia, Dr. Chang earned an M.A. in East Asian Languages and Culture and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from USC. He is a professor of Chinese and English language at Long Beach City College.
