USC Entrepreneurship Club presents “Made for China”
The USC Entrepreneurship Club hosts a session to inform students about a start-up competition.
Where
“Made for China” – Entrepreneurial Pitch Competition, promoted by USC Entrepreneurship Club, This event aims to encourage understanding of the Chinese market while building entrepreneurial skills among Southern California students. The Champion of “Made for China will receive 500,000 RMB with a round-trip plane ticket to China.
Although 3 decades have passed since the market reform of People’s Republic of China, the momentum of entrepreneurship has just begun. With the rapid growth of China’s economy and the increasing number of overseas students, there emerge a number of for-profit or non-profit startups established by overseas Chinese, American investors, or both.
Their unique intelligence and global vision enable them to dedicate to the development of Chinese society. However, the cultural gaps between the eastern and western worlds, the lack of resources, and immaturity of Chinese legal system have lots of barriers to those passionate but inexperienced entrepreneurs.
Such barriers require herculean efforts from all sides to overcome the challenges and seize the opportunities. Therefore, we believe hosting “Made for China” – Entrepreneurial Pitch Competition is a good starting point to support our entrepreneurs by connecting them with potential teammates and partners, experienced industry professionals, angel investors, and venture capitalists.
USC Entrepreneurship Club will host information sessions for Trojans. The Info session will host many experts from different industries including the producer of the competition to share their experiences on practicing business in China and their opinions of the Competition itself.
