US-China Trade Relations under Trump

A panel of leading scholars will discuss current, past and present trade relations between both the U.S. and China.

Last year's presidential election heralded a tectonic shift not just in U.S. domestic policies, but also in the country's approach to international relations -- especially when it comes to trade. An interdisciplinary group of leading scholars from China and the United States will come together on this panel for a discussion on what all of this means for trade relations between both countries. The panel will shed light on how trade policy has shifted within broader trends of globalization since the 2008 economic tsunami, including policy-level efforts that each country made alongside the impact on the US-China trade dynamic.
The group will close out on what mutually beneficial US-China trade cooperation can look like in this new era.
