President Trump formally abandoned the TPP right after he got sworn into office. He has decried, during his campaign, that he will put a 45% tariff on imports from China. China is the world’s largest exporter with the United States’ being its second largest trading partner after Canada. How should we look at the future of the U.S.-China trade ties in the Trump era?
 
On February 22, please join us for this timely and spirited discussion on this prominent topic led by Ambassador Charlene Barshefsky, the former United States Trade Representative and Professor Yasheng Huang (黄亚生), MIT Sloan School of Management Professor in Chinese Economy and Business and a Professor of Global Economics and Management. Ambassador Barshefsky was the chief negotiator and principal trade policymaker for the United States from 1997 to 2001 and served as the architect and chief negotiator of China’s historic WTO Agreement.
