Charlene Makley, Associate Professor of Asian Studies at Reed College speacializes in Globalization, ethnicity, nationalism, religion and ritual, linguistic anthropology in Tibet, China and East Asia.

She received her B.A. and M.A from Middlebury College in 1986 and 1993 respectively, Ph.D. from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1999. hs has been a faculty at Reed College since 2000.
