The Bronx Museum of art hosts special screening of the video of the New York Dance and Performance (BESSIE) award-winning visual dance-theater solo performance by Muna Tseng, on the life and work of Tseng Kwong Chi (1950-1990).

Where
A New York based Chinese-American photographer, performance artist and downtown personality in the 1980's, Tseng traveled the globe, creating a black & white photographic self-portrait series called "The Expeditionary Series" or "East Meets West." In more than 100 images, Tseng inserted himself, posing in a Mao suit at iconic tourist sites from the Eiffel Tower to Niagara Falls. Tseng's photographs are on display in the current Bronx Museum of the Arts exhibition "Urban Archives: Happy Together Asian and Asian-American Art from the Permanent Collection."
Voices of Bill T. Jones, Kenny Scharf, Ann Magnuson, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and other downtown luminaries narrate the film, recalling Tseng and the vibrant 1980's New York downtown art world.
The screening includes a companion piece: "East Meets West" (dir. Christine Lombard). A Q&A follows the screening with the collaborators: Muna Tseng (Choreographer-dancer) and Ping Chong (Director), and Alexandra Chang (A/P/A Institute) and Sergio Bessa (Bronx Museum of the Arts, Director of Programs).
