David G. Strand, Charles A. Dana Professor of Political Science at Dickinson College, received his B.A., Lawrence University in 1971, his M.A. from Columbia University in 1973 and M.Phil.in 1974; Ph.D. in 1979.
His field is 20th century Chinese politics and history with related interests in comparative social and political development.
