On September 29, 2024, the USC U.S.-China Institute hosted a workshop at the Huntington’s Chinese garden, offering K-12 educators hands-on insights into using the garden as a teaching tool. Screening: Close To Me (CAFF 2011)
The 2011 Chinese American Film Festival presents a screening of Close To Me.
The story is about a policewoman who is trusted by a jailbreak fugitive, a family member of a criminal with their beloved ones. She finds and takes care of the child who lives in the street and also the mother. The film shows with exquisite tenderness and true impressiveness of the great humane feelings and complete spirit of humanitarianism of the law enforcement personnel and the community volunteers.
