Yu Jianrong received his doctorate in 2001 from the Center for the Study of China's Agrarian Problems of Central China Normal University. He then engaged in postgraduate research at the Rural Development Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is currently the Director of that institute. He holds a concurrent post in the Ministry of Education. His main writings include Politics of Yue Village: Changes in the Political Structure in China’s Rural Villages in the Transition Period, Peasant Struggle for Human Rights in Contemporary China: An Investigation of Henyang, Hunan, and The Situation of China's Working Class: The Truth about Anyuan.

于建嵘，男，1962年9月生，汉族，湖南省衡阳市人。2001年7月毕业于华中师范大学中国农村问题研究中心，获法学博士学位。随后进入中国社会科学院农村发展研究所博士后流动站从事博士后研究。现为中国社会科学院农村发展研究所社会问题研究中心主任、教授。兼任教育部重点研究基地华中师范大学中国农村问题研究中心博士生导师；教育部重点研究基地山东大学科学社会主义研究所学术委员会委员；河北大学中国乡村建设研究中心学术委员会主任。曾在香港中文大学、香港浸会大学、美国哈佛大学做访问学者。主要著述有《岳村政治——转型期中国乡村政治结构的变迁》，《中国工人阶级状况：安源实录》和《当代中国农民的维权抗争：湖南衡阳考察》等。 演讲题目是:<中国的信访制度改革与宪政建设>,介绍中国信访条例修改的情况,目前的信访形势和发展方向.
