This year's Joseph Levenson Book Prize goes to the 2021 work making "the greatest contribution to increasing understanding of the history, culture, society, politics, or economy of China."

The Mike Curb College of Arts, Media, and Communication, The China Institute, & The Department of Kinesiology at CSUN present a presentation and demonstration of Chinese Dance Culture by Dr. Wei Xu from the School of Dance at the Nanjing University of the Arts in China.

Dr. Wei Xu is Associate Professor, Assistant to Dean, and Chair of the Department of Dance at Nanjing University of the Arts, one of CSUN's sister universities in China. She is a member of the Dancers Association of China and an executive member of the Council of Chinese Arts-Medicine Association. She received her bachelor and master degrees from Beijing Dance Academy and her Ph.D. on dance choreography from the Chinese National Academy of Arts. Her publications include Appreciation of Chinese and Foreign Dance, Appreciation of Chinese National and Folk Dance, and History and Appreciation of Chinese Dance.
