On September 29, 2024, the USC U.S.-China Institute hosted a workshop at the Huntington’s Chinese garden, offering K-12 educators hands-on insights into using the garden as a teaching tool. With expert presentations, a guided tour, and new resources, the event explored how Chinese gardens' rich history and cultural significance can be integrated into classrooms. Where
Sanchez Art Center presents “The Works of Wanxin Zhang,” an exhibit of ceramic sculptures. Born and educated in China, Zhang moved to the Bay Area in 1992. He has exhibited internationally and received numerous awards. Zhang will talk about his work at 4 pm on Sunday, August 11. Also showing are “Shifting the Body: Explorations from the Female Perspective” from the Asian American Women Artists Association, curated by Pamela Ybanez; and “Regrets Only,” an Art Guild of Pacifica group show.
