Join us for a free one-day workshop for educators at the Japanese American National Museum, hosted by the USC U.S.-China Institute and the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia. This workshop will include a guided tour of the beloved exhibition Common Ground: The Heart of Community, slated to close permanently in January 2025. Following the tour, learn strategies for engaging students in the primary source artifacts, images, and documents found in JANM’s vast collection and discover classroom-ready resources to support teaching and learning about the Japanese American experience.

Where
Pianist Genevieve Feiwen Lee performs music by Mozart, Schumann, Janček, Schubert, Kurtg and Ge Gan-ru on piano and toy instruments.
Ms. Lee has excited audiences from New York City to Changsha, China in solo, chamber and ensemble performances. Her first orchestral appearance came at age 12, and since has been a guest with orchestras from Brazil to the U.S. As an active collaborative artist shes performed with XTET, is a founding member of the Mojave Trio, and can be heard on Albany Records An American Collage with DAnna Fortunato, among others.
