Washington, D.C. - Senior foreign policy advisors to presidential
candidates Senator McCain and Senator Obama will debate the future of
U.S. foreign policy toward the Asia-Pacific on September 22. The
National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) is hosting the debate to help
inform the public of the presidential candidates' views toward this
important region. The next U.S. administration will need an effective
Asia policy to address challenges ranging from global warming to
traditional and nontraditional security threats as well as maintaining
prosperity.
