Mythical Love Story
Steeped deeply in Chinese Mythology, this whimsical love story is about a college student from Beijing named Deng Fei who visits Kunlun Mountain and meets the daughter of the Heaven Pillar Tribe’s Chief. The tribe is named after the Heaven Pillar, which looks like a large tree so tall that it reaches to heaven. When Deng Fei accidentally performs a sacrilegious act, an ancient Chinese Goddess (Queen Mother of the West) and other gods from Chinese mythology look to a sea monster (Gonggong) to rebuild the Heaven Pillar.
Tickets

Tickets prices range from $35-$77 for adults, and $16-$37 for children 13 & under. There are three distinct section for this production at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, Balcony, Loge, and Orchestra. The Orchestra is on the ground level and features stadium style seating; the Loge is the front section of the Balcony closest to the stage, seats are also stadium style; and Balcony seats are set behind the Loge, and are also stadium style. Times

The show is scheduled to run two hours with a fifteen minute intermission. There will one performance at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Cast
Song Xinyi (Mei Duo)
Song Xinyi performed in China National Opera House’s production of Carmen; and she performed the role of Bai Young in Day Dream, the first original musical by Chinese musical troupe, Mahua Fun Age.

Liu Zi Fei (Mei Duo)
Liu Zi Fei performed in the Chinese version of Mamma Mia!, and I’m In Your Future, a musical for charity.

Zhou Wei (Deng Fei)
Zhou Wei Graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy a major in Play Performing. His credits include West Side Story, Butterfly, and The Last Shot.

Cai Peng (Deng Fei)
Cai Peng has been cast the lead male role in several Chinese productions such as Xiao Ke’s musical series “Why I Love You”, Dragon Oath, and Flyover.

Yue Wei (Suo Lang)
Yue Wei graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy’s Musical Department. His credits include Miss Saigon, West Side Story, Cats, Butterflies, Love U, and Teresa Teng.

Ayunga (Prince)
Ayunga’s credits include Rent, Mamma Mia!, and Flyover.

Han Meng (Gonggong)
Han Meng graduated from Hochschule Fur Musik und Theater Rostock, his credits include Notre Dame de Paris, Die Zauberflote, La Traviata, Albert Herring, and Suffering Goddess.

Wang Yu Mei (Queen Mother)
Wang Yu Mei performed in productions of The Lion King, Rent, Fame Carousel, and Trump Card Game.

Guo En Long (Chief)
Guo En Long’s credits include Don Quixote, Romeo & Juliet, Drifting City, and Dragon Oath.
