Dr. Guanghua Wan is the Principal Economist at the Asian Development Bank. Previously, he was Senior Economist at the United Nations and taught in a number of universities in Australia and China. As an honorary professor of over ten top institutions in China, including Fundan and Zhejiang Universities, Dr. Wan is among the top 10% economists globally and top 5% in Asia according to the latest ranking of REPEC.
Dr. Wan's latest paper, "Inequality in China 1978-2010: Trends, Causes and Policy Options" discusses how income inequality at the regional and household level in China has evolved over time and analyzes drivers that contribute to the rising inequality.
