Beijing Normal University, founded in 1902 and one of the top universities in China, now has four English-language master’s programs in Development Studies, Environment, Education, and Global Economy. Three professors from the School of Social Development and Public Policy (SSDPP) will be visiting Los Angeles to meet with interested students on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26 from 5 to 8pm. The three professors are Robin Lewis (former dean at the Columbia School of
International and Public Affairs-SIPA), Wang Xinsong (a political scientist) and Xiao Suowei (a sociologist).

The venue is the Graduate Studies Fair of idealist.org, a non-profit that promotes social change and careers in fields related to creating a better world. The event is free of charge and will feature more than a hundred different graduate programs.

The teaching faculty in the master’s programs have US doctorates (Harvard, Columbia, Berkeley, Penn, and others) and all instruction is in English. These programs are suitable for China/Asian Studies specialists, but also for those with little or no background in these areas. No Chinese language is required, but for those who have studied Chinese, it is possible to continue further language study while completing these two-year degrees. The university has a lovely campus in
central Beijing and full scholarships (tuition and living expenses) are available.

All USC students are very welcome to attend!
