Background:

ChinaSF is hosting leaders from the Chinese Chamber of International Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, as well as commerce officials from the City of Kunshan.

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) is the largest institution for the promotion of foreign trade in China. Founded in 1952, CCPIT promotes China's international economic and commercial interests. This is accomplished by developing business cooperation and exchanges with foreign countries. The CCPIT produces economic data, creates diplomatic ties and is also active with trade arbitration issues.

The China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) was set up by CCPIT in 1988 as a parallel trade promotion organization. CCOIC is a nationwide business organization in China, representing the most dynamic and internationalized Chinese companies of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as national and local non-governmental organizations.

Kunshan is currently regarded as one of the most economically successful county-level administrations in China. One of China’s major hubs for international trade, Kunshan was ranked first in the "25 Best County-level Cities in China" study by Forbes China in 2010.
