University of California, Santa Barbara and the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office (TECO) in Los Angeles, will jointly sponsor a photo exhibition entitled “Enchanting Taiwan” at the Davidson Library from October 25, 2010, to November 19, 2010.

The exhibition features 30 beautiful photographs which capture Taiwan’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.

The unique exhibit focuses on Taiwan’s rich traditions which evolved from agrarian culture and folklore. The images include stunning landscapes of the Northeast Coast and the magnificent marble canyons of Taroko National Park, as well as the cityscapes of Taipei and Kaohsiung. Cultural events such as the New Year’s lantern show and ritual celebrations for the Taoist goddess, Mazu, are also captured. Importantly, the collection features images of Taiwan's indigenous cultural groups.

With a strong focus on cultural exchange, the TECO in Los Angeles is delighted to engage on this project with the University of California, Santa Barbara. It enables an opportunity for its patrons to get a glimpse of Taiwan and it's culture through the accomplishments of its talented artists.
