Join us for a free one-day workshop for educators at the Japanese American National Museum, hosted by the USC U.S.-China Institute and the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia. This workshop will include a guided tour of the beloved exhibition Common Ground: The Heart of Community, slated to close permanently in January 2025. Following the tour, learn strategies for engaging students in the primary source artifacts, images, and documents found in JANM’s vast collection and discover classroom-ready resources to support teaching and learning about the Japanese American experience.
Divine Performing Arts: Chinese New Year Spetacular
Divine Performing Arts' Chinese New Year Spectacular 2009 is a grand live stage production inspired by the rich spirit of traditional Chinese culture.
Where
Rich Spirit of Five Thousand Years In One Exhilarating Show
China was once known as “Shen Zhou” or “Land of the Divine,” as people
once believed Chinese culture to be a gift from the heavens. Virtue and
piety were emphasized in daily life. Sadly, though, over time much of this
great culture has been lost.
Until now…
Based in New York , Divine Performing Arts is reviving the long-lost treasures
of China by presenting a series of original performances across the globe.
Its shows transport audiences to a land of beauty and enchantment, leaving
them uplifted and inspired.
The performances combine ancient technique with modern technology. Involving
hundreds of talented dancers and musicians, original scores, live orchestra,
and custom-designed digital backdrops, these pieces of artistry delight the
senses, touch the heart, and move the soul.
The cultural renaissance of Divine Performing Arts centers on classical themes and Chinese traditions that truly define “Beauty” and “Compassion.” The show brings the true spirit of Chinese culture to life, free of any distortions from the Chinese Communist Party. The content of all programs is expressed in Chinese, English, and local languages.
The Mission of Divine Performing Art Spectacular 2009
(Non-profit 501-C3):
- To promote traditional Chinese culture through the form of high
quality performing arts.
- To provide an exchange platform for people interested in Chinese
culture.
- To promote and revitalize the precious “virtual” and “moral”
values within the traditional Chinese culture.
