Join us for a free one-day workshop for educators at the Japanese American National Museum, hosted by the USC U.S.-China Institute and the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia. This workshop will include a guided tour of the beloved exhibition Common Ground: The Heart of Community, slated to close permanently in January 2025. Following the tour, learn strategies for engaging students in the primary source artifacts, images, and documents found in JANM’s vast collection and discover classroom-ready resources to support teaching and learning about the Japanese American experience.
Chinese Performing Arts Troupe
Twenty-one performing artists represent the best of Chinese culture.

Where
The Henan Province Performing Arts Ensemble and the Shaolin Monks Martial Arts Troupe will present four traditional Chinese art forms: Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Classical Instrumental Music, and Peking Opera. The performance kicks-off the troupe’s West Coast tour.
Pre-show picnics welcome and cushions are available for rent. Theater doors open at 7:30pm.
Cost:
$40 lower tier; $30 upper tier; $15 children under 12 and seniors (upper tier only)
