The Confucius Institute at the University of Oregon is very pleased to announce the initiation of a Chinese language competition, which this term will be a karaoke-style singing competition

Chinese Singing Competition
The first Chinese Singing Competition at the Confucius Institute is now open for registration! Any Chinese speaker who would like to show his/her talent of singing Chinese songs is eligible to register, except for native speakers of Chinese.
Please fill in the registration form and send it to the Confucius Institute office at Gerlinger 103, or via email: chunyanh@uoregon.edu before October 30th.

The competition will be held on November 14, 2013 from 6:00 pm–8:00 pm in the Great Hall of the Global Scholars Hall.

Registration requirements:
Participants may not be native speakers of Chinese.
Participants can sing solo, as a duo or trio, and families may sing as a group.
Each registered performer may sing one song, which should not be longer than 4 minutes.
The jury will consider language proficiency, lyrics, and musical performance.
