Chinese Higher Education: 21st Century Opportunities

Participants will gain valuable insights into contemporary Chinese higher education and the trends that will shape universities in China in the coming years and decades.

This event will help focus and strengthen international programs to better meet the needs of Chinese students. American and Chinese higher education leaders will exchange ideas with an emphasis on understanding the current and future state of Chinese higher education and the opportunities for collaboration between colleges and universities on both sides of the Pacific Rim.

The program will include a keynote address by a renowned leader from an esteemed university in the People’s Republic of China:

Provost Lin Jianhua, Peking University

Panel discussions and interactive discussions will highlight topics including:

• Massification in China;
• Entrepreneurialism and Regulation in Chinese higher education; and
• International educational and research collaborations.

As will all Higher Education Leadership Institute events, the day-long event will also include ample time for active discussions and networking among participants.

Based at the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education, the USC Higher Education Leadership Institute convenes a range of programs for senior executives whose leadership positions on college and university campuses necessitate a deep, ongoing engagement with contemporary issues in higher education.
