Join us for a free one-day workshop for educators at the Japanese American National Museum, hosted by the USC U.S.-China Institute and the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia. This workshop will include a guided tour of the beloved exhibition Common Ground: The Heart of Community, slated to close permanently in January 2025. Following the tour, learn strategies for engaging students in the primary source artifacts, images, and documents found in JANM’s vast collection and discover classroom-ready resources to support teaching and learning about the Japanese American experience.
2016 California China Forum: The Collision between Chinese and American Culture and Technology Innovation
USC Chinese Student and Scholars Association co-hosts a forum that aims to present in-depth discussion about the linkage between Chinese culture and technology in Southern California and the U.S. market.
Where
With the largest Chinese communities in the U.S., the city of Los Angeles brought together great number of outstanding Chinese businessmen, remarkable entrepreneurs, and excellent student. Besides, as the center of international’s film, culture, entertainment and innovation industry, Los Angeles has strong soft power, which cannot be overlooked. The trend of globalization has triggered mutual support and development between China and U.S., especially the lens of cultural and technological innovation. Chinese Students and Scholars Association in South Western United States and USC Chinese Students & Scholars Association decide to organize the Chinese forum with the theme of the collision between Chinese and American culture and technology innovation. This forum aims to present in-depth discussion about the linkage between Chinese culture and technology in Southern California and the U.S. market. We will also shed light upon Chinese brands, “Made in China”, Chinese culture, and Chinese entrepreneurs. Chinese students in the state will contribute more and even lead the development of global cultural and technological innovation in the coming decade.

This year, California Chinese Student Enterprise Competition will combine with 2016 "Chunhui" Chinese Overseas Students Innovation & Enterprise Competition (South Western United States). Competitors will compete with recommended projects from "Chunhui". The top five Entrepreneurial teams will gain one-to-one training opportunities with well-known entrepreneurs, and they can get chance to know famous entrepreneurs and investors in California. Competitors can experience startup passions in the capital of innovation in the world as well as dreams to change the world via live roadshow, investors' feedback and other edges of this contest.
Competition Introduction
The competition faces to all U.S. Chinese students and scholars who harbor dream and passion to entrepreneurship, prepare business plan and roadshow. Entrepreneurial projects for the competition need to be in accord with China's strategic plan in emerging industry.
