Join us for a free one-day workshop for educators at the Japanese American National Museum, hosted by the USC U.S.-China Institute and the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia. This workshop will include a guided tour of the beloved exhibition Common Ground: The Heart of Community, slated to close permanently in January 2025. China Earthquake Relief Fund-Raising Concert
The CSUN China Institute & San Fernando Valley Chinese Cultural Association(SFVCCA)host a fundraiser for earthquake victims.

The disastrous 8.0 earthquake in Sichuan, China two weeks ago caused not only property loss but about 80,000 lives. The Chinese government rescue efforts and the relief donations from all over the world have been heart-warming.
Buildings crumbled could be rebuilt. However, when children lost their parents, they will face the most difficult future in their lives. That is why we are starting a special program to help take care of the ORPHANS and the DISABLED left by the earthquake.
• All donations will be used directly to help the victims. Two of SFVCCA members who serve as our rep in China will personally interview and follow up the beneficiaries in Sichuan.
• All donations will be applied 100% to their welfare. There is no overhead and no reimbursement or per diem for our volunteer-rep in China.
• All donations for this event will be ear-marked “quake victim” and will not be used for any other project. All transactions are transparent.
• While most relief programs will subside in perhaps 3 – 5 months, our special efforts and relief funds will continue to help the most vulnerable victims – the orphans and the disabled left by the earthquake.
• All donations are tax-deductible.
Tickets are now available in our ticket office (677-2488) at the University Student Union. If you want your name to be acknowledged in the concert program book, you can e-mail Dr. Su before 6/19 at zsu@csun.edu after you purchase the concert tickets.
