Join us for a free one-day workshop for educators at the Japanese American National Museum, hosted by the USC U.S.-China Institute and the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia. This workshop will include a guided tour of the beloved exhibition Common Ground: The Heart of Community, slated to close permanently in January 2025. Following the tour, learn strategies for engaging students in the primary source artifacts, images, and documents found in JANM’s vast collection and discover classroom-ready resources to support teaching and learning about the Japanese American experience.

Zhong Chuntao had been the house maid of the Liang Family for six decades ever since she was thirteen years old and had taken care of five generations. When she had a stroke, the fifth generation, Roger saw no use in her and shipped her to a nursing home, where she met all kinds of interesting people, such as the sincere girl named Cai, the alleged funny old guy named Jian, the quiet woman named Mei and the greedy and jealous woman named Jin. Roger realized from his many visits to the nursing home that his fondness and reliance for Sister Peach is much more profound than he ever felt. He made up his mind to give Sister Peach the best last years as possible with him.
