The University of Southern California’s U.S.-China Institute aims to enhance understanding of the 21st century’s definitive and multidimensional relationship through cutting edge research, innovative graduate and undergraduate training, professional development seminars, and timely public lectures, symposia, screenings, and exhibitions.

The Institute selects 1-2 postdoctoral fellows each academic year. Applications from scholars who specialize in U.S.-China relations, very broadly conceived, or on an issue in contemporary China that is likely to affect U.S.-China relations are encouraged. Consideration is given to applicants in all areas, but we are especially eager to encourage applications from scholars focusing on topics such as macroeconomic issues, energy, the environment, investment, new media, film and television, soft power, migration, ethno-religious issues, and identity. Fellows are encouraged to work with the Institute’s affiliated faculty and with others at the university.
